MANILA – The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has arrested a total of 996 wanted persons in January.

“The 996 wanted persons arrested were composed mainly of 301 most wanted persons, 32 district wanted persons, 269 station wanted persons, and 394 other wanted persons,” NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said in a statement Monday (Feb. 7) night.

Among the five districts of NCRPO, Danao said the Manila Police District recorded the highest number of wanted persons arrested with a total of 373 arrests — 138 of whom were most wanted persons, 26 district wanted persons, 112 station wanted persons, and 97 other wanted persons.

This is followed by the Southern Police District with 318; Northern Police District, 174; Eastern Police District, 108.

Meanwhile, the Quezon City Police District recorded the least number of wanted persons arrested with 23 — six of whom were most wanted persons, six station wanted persons and 11 other wanted persons.

“Despite this accomplishment, however, let us not sit on our laurels but be more vigorous in the implementation of our continued campaign against wanted persons. Let us altogether ensure that justice is duly served and that these persons were presented before the court to answer for the charges filed against them,” Danao said. (PNA) – bny
