Northeast monsoon to bring light rains over N. Luzon

MANILA — The northeast monsoon affecting northern Luzon will bring light rains over this part of the island, the weather bureau said Saturday.

Cloudy skies with light rains will prevail over Batanes and the Babuyan Group of islands, while the Ilocos, Cordillera and the rest of the Cagayan Valley regions will have partly cloudy, to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said localized thunderstorms will cause partly cloudy, to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Meanwhile, strong winds will blow over the northern and eastern sections of Luzon, and eastern Visayas. Coastal waters along these areas will be rough.

Moderate to occasionally strong winds will prevail over the rest of Luzon and the Visayas, where coastal waters will be moderate to occasionally rough.

Winds will be light to moderate over Mindanao, with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (Ma. Cristina Arayata/PNA)
