ZAMBOANGA CITY — The official ballots and other election paraphernalia for the May 13 mid-term polls have already arrived in this city, an official said.

City Treasurer Romelita Candido said the paraphernalia include official ballots, ballpens, indelible ink and other forms.

She added that the vote counting machines (VCMs) have yet to be delivered to her office, including the election returns.

Once the election returns arrives, she said verification will be conducted in the presence of representatives from different political parties and media outfits.

Meantime, Candido dismissed speculations about the official ballots being tampered with while in the City Treasurer’s custody, adding she would be “more than willing to allow watchers or anybody to watch over the official ballots during office hours.”

This city has 98 barangays consisting to two congressional districts with 240,312 registered voters in the first district, and 227,223 in the second district.
