Over 438-K affected by heavy rains, flooding; 10 reported dead

At least 10 persons died due to heavy rains and floods that hit portions of the Visayas and Mindanao, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported Thursday, Jan. 12.

The NDRRMC reported a total of 106,143 families or 438,998 individuals were affected by heavy rains and flooding.

Based on its latest situational report, five persons died in Bicol Region, four in Northern Mindanao, and one in Davao Region.

Meanwhile, two individuals were reported missing, while four sustained injuries.

Cost of damage to agriculture is pegged at P142 million. Damage to infrastructure has reached P165 million.
