President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. encouraged Filipinos to live by faith, as he joined the citizenry in celebrating the Feast of the Immaculate Conception Monday.
In a message posted on social media, the President invited the faithful to revere the Blessed Virgin Mary as a motherly figure that embodies what it truly means to embrace God with open hearts and minds.
The statement read, “The Immaculate Conception reminds us that the way we begin matters. Our intentions shape our outcomes, and the spirit in which we start a mission influences the fruit it bears.”
He moreover urged Filipinos to reflect on their actions and deeds, ensuring that they partake in a community anchored in grace and purpose—principles set forth by the country’s principal patroness.
Marcos Jr. likewise encouraged fellow public servants to lead their constituents and serve their locales with wisdom, discernment, and pure intentions.
“Let us draw strength from her life as we continue building a nation that places God at its center and holds fast to the dignity of every Filipino.”
December 8 is declared as an annual non-working holiday in observance of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, by virtue of Republic Act No. 10966 that was signed into law in 2017.
