MANILA – The total number of recovered coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the Philippines has reached 2,743,297 after 3,140 new recoveries were reported on Sunday, Nov. 14.

In its latest case bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH) noted that recoveries account for 97.4% of the total case count which has reached 2,815,980 since the start of the pandemic last year.

Meanwhile, some 1,926 new infections brought the total number of active cases nationwide to 28,102.

About 62.3% of these active cases are mild, 5.8% are asymptomatic, 4.5% are critical, 10.5% are severe, and 16.94% are moderate.

The country’s COVID-19 fatalities increased to 45,581 after the DOH reported 309 new deaths.

According to DOH data on Nov. 12, about 3.9% of 40,996 who were tested turned out positive for COVID-19.

“About 26 duplicates were removed from the total case count, and of these, 24 are recoveries. Moreover, 245 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” it added.

All laboratories were operational on Nov. 12 while two laboratories were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System.

The DOH noted the two non-reporting laboratories contribute, on average, 0.6% of samples tested, and 0.3% of positive individuals based on data in the last 14 days.

To date, 34% of 3,700 intensive care unit beds, 29% of 20,500 isolation beds, 22% of 13,500 ward beds, and 21% of 3,100 ventilators are utilized by patients with COVID-19 nationwide.
