PRRD names Castriciones as new DAR chief

Appointment paper of John Rualo Castriciones as ad interim Secretary of Department of Agrarian Reform

MANILA — Malacañang on Wednesday released another batch of appointees led by Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary John Rualo Castriciones.

President Rodrigo R. Duterte signed Castriciones’ appointment paper on March 22 or four months after he was named acting secretary of DAR.

Castriciones replaced Rafael Mariano whose ad interim appointment was rejected by the Commission on Appointments (CA) in September last year.

He worked as Undersecretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) before his appointment to DAR.

Meanwhile, Duterte also appointed John Titus Jumamoy Vistal as Undersecretary of the Office of the Cabinet Secretary; Macacuna Moslem as Assistant Secretary of the Office of the President; and Joan Arango Lagunda as Assistant Secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

Roderick Mari Planta has been appointed as Assistant Director-General of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) and Daniel Abulencia Ariaso Sr. as Deputy National Statistician of the Philippine Statistical Authority and NEDA.

Malacanang also released the appointment of Howard Lance Andarda Uyking, replacing John Manalili as Director IV of the Bureau of Communications Services under the Presidential Communications Operations Office, and Jesus Urbi Calzado as Director IV of Department of Health.

On the other hand, Richard Emerson Dominguez Ballester, Maria Eloisa Iranzo Calderon and Reverie Pure Garcia Sapaen were appointed as Director III, while Aladin Antimano Ancheta as Director IV of NEDA.

Other appointees include: Teodoro Del Rosario as board member of Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority; Ruben Theodore Casenas Sindac as board member of Chemfields, Inc.; Mangondaya Solaiman as board member of Marawi Resort Hotel, Inc.; Emmanuel Herbosa as board member of Philippine Export-Import Credit Agency; Sonny Yanga David as board member of Philippine Mining Development Corp.; and Oscar Lactao as board member of the Philippine Reclamation Authority.
