Over 1,000 “estero rangers” deployed in Metro Manila

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources sent out 1,283 staffers called “estero rangers,” two for each barangay in Metro Manila, to ensure the cleanliness of the sewage in the metropolis. Said individuals will serve as conduits in the implementation of Republic Act No. 9003, the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000. The end goal of the move is to cleanse the Manila Bay.
