More than 24,000 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) stranded in Metro Manila have returned to their respective hometowns, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque disclosed Monday.
“Matatandaan na nagbigay ng deadline ang ating Presidente sa mga ahensiya ng pamahalaan na aksiyunan ang issue ng mga OFW na nasa mandatory quarantine (It could be recalled that the President earlier gave a deadline for government agencies to act on the issue on OFWs under mandatory quarantine),” Roque pointed out.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the deadline set by President Duterte has been effective. Some OFW groups have extended their gratitude over the action of the Chief Executive. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
