Pres. Duterte to review 2021 budget carefully

Following the ratification of the proposed ₱4.5-trillion national budget for next year, Malacañang assured that President Rodrigo Duterte will thoroughly review it at the soonest possible time.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque shared the copy of the budget has not yet reached Malacañang as of Thursday noon.

“Patuloy kaming naghihintay. Bibilisan naman ng Palasyo ang pagsusuri sa budget (We are still waiting. The Palace will expedite its review of the budget),” Roque guaranteed.

The timely passage of the budget has been emphasized anew in consideration of the various programs of the government to aid in the country’s recovery from the impact of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) crisis.

Malacañang said the billions-worth of allocation for the vaccine is enough but the current challenge lies on the supply of vaccines.

“Bukod pa riyan sa na-appropriate na ng Kongreso, nariyan pa rin ang mga pwede nating utangin na napakaliit naman ng interest rates (Aside from the allocation of Congress, there are other available sources where we can borrow with low interest rates),” Roque concluded. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
