DOLE bids for the prioritization of OFWS, minimum wage earners in COVID-19 vaccination

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is pushing for the inclusion of the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and minimum wage earners in the priority list of the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination.

DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III wishes to move the OFWs in number 5 or 6 of the priority list from its current 12th place. He added that the 20 million minimum wage earners must also be prioritized since they are one of the top performers of the economy.

Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III initially stated that among the priority list for the vaccine are health workers, frontliners in several selected agencies, uniformed personnel, the marginalized sector, senior citizens, and the vulnerable sector. –PTV News
