Skyway Stage now partially open

The Skyway Stage 3 has opened to motorists on Tuesday.

Despite opening with partial operations, those travelling from NLEX may already use the ramp of the Skyway Stage 3 leading to Buendia where they can be directed to SLEX using the old skyway. The original one-hour travel time from Quezon City to Buendia has now been shortened to 20 minutes, while the three-hour travel time from NLEX to SLEX has been cut to 30 minutes.

The newly opened infrastructure has an on and off ramp in Buendia, Quezon Avenue and Balintawak. However, only the southbound ramp is open in Plaza Dilao.

The skyway has allowed the usage of one to two lanes each for those heading north and south. The six lanes will be opened to the public after its inauguration on January 14 which will be led by President Rodrigo Duterte.

“Noong pumasok si president 11% lang ang physical accomplishment dito. Talagang prinioritize ng government lahat ng support binigay namin (The accomplishment was only at 11 percent when the President came in. The government really prioritized the support we have given),” DPWH Secretary Mark Villar stated. – Report from Karen Villanda
