DOTr, PPA, inaugurate Cantilan Port expansion project today

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) inaugurated today, August 5, 2021, the recently-completed expansion project at Cantilan Port in Surigao del Sur.

The project that includes the construction of RC wharf, back-up area, and port lighting system, improves the cargo operation in Cantilan Port to twice its original capacity.

This likewise brings much convenience and comfort to port users as compared with the former poorly maintained condition of its structures and facilities.

The Cantilan Port expansion project is expected to facilitate more opportunities for livelihood and maritime trading in the region, thus spurring economic growth within its neighboring areas.

The PPA, with the guidance of DOTr, is committed to continuously initiate port development and improvements within its ports system to ensure more convenient and safer port operations for the benefit of its stakeholders.
