Search and rescue ops continue for landslide victims in Benguet

Search and rescue operations have continued for two children following a landslide in Dominican Mirador Hill in Baguio City on Monday evening (Oct. 11). 

Responders first recovered a 49-year-old victim past Tuesday (Oct. 12) noon. According to survivor Danilo Ocampo, the landslide took place at around 7:00 p.m. on Oct. 12 which affected their house.

Three children also died following a similar incident in Ambiong, La Trinidad, Benguet on Monday evening when the victims were eating. They were rescued but were declared dead on arrival.

Separate landslide incidents were also reported in several roads in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) which affected a number of houses.

Meanwhile, several strawberry and flower farms in the province were submerged in floodwater due to heavy rains brought about by Severe Tropical Storm Maring.  – Report from Jorton Campana (PTV Cordillera)/AG-rir
