DOH allows vaccination of booster shots 3 months after 2nd dose

The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday (Dec. 22) has allowed all fully vaccinated adults to get their booster shots.

This after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved to reduce the time interval between the primary series of vaccination and booster shots.

According to the DOH, eligible adults may receive their booster shots three months after the second dose of AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer, Sinovac, or Sputnik V.

For those injected with Janssen, they have to wait for two months to pass before they can receive their booster shot.

This new protocol is also an initiative of the government against the new Omicron variant threat.

The extended Bayanihan Bakunahan 2 continues.

According to data from the National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC), from Dec. 15 to 20, more than 3.7 million eligible individuals have been vaccinated.

According to NVOC Chairperson Myrna Cabotaje, most of the individuals vaccinated were given second doses. – Report from Mark Fetalco/PG – bny
