Less than 10-K COVID-19 cases, 24-K recoveries logged

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 9,493 additional COVID-19 cases and 24,210 recoveries on Tuesday (Feb. 1), bringing the active case tally to 176,053.

There have been 3,569,665 total confirmed cases, 3,339,558 recoveries, and 54,054 deaths including 51 freshly reported fatalities since the pandemic began.

The DOH said 97.2% of the cases have mild or no symptoms, while 6,133 of the active cases are asymptomatic, 164,995 cases are mild, 3,070 are moderate, 1,529 are severe, and 326 are critical.


Based on the case bulletin, 28.8% of the 31,053 tested based on Jan. 30 reports are positive for the disease. All laboratories were operational on Jan. 30, but 10 were not able to submit data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).

The country’s current healthcare utilization is at 46% for intensive care units (ICU), 45% for isolation beds, 47% for ward beds, and 25% for ventilators.

The NCR, meanwhile, has an ICU occupancy of 40%, isolation beds at 35%, ward beds at 40%, and 24% for ventilators. -ag
