PNP seizes P15-M worth of drugs in 2 days

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has seized P15 million worth of illegal drugs in three separate operations in Cebu, Manila, and Bacolod over the weekend.

A buy-bust operation by the Toledo City Police in Cebu on Aug. 13 resulted in the capture of P7.4-million worth of illegal drugs and the arrest of high-value target Raffy Hermona.

In a separate operation with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Sta. Cruz, Manila on Aug. 14, authorities caught P3.4-million worth of shabu along with suspects Ainnah Ali Salgan and Norhanna Salgan Canapia.

Another anti-illegal drug operation in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental on the same day resulted in the recovery of P4.3-million worth of drugs and the apprehension of 36 year-old suspect Ahzer Gregorio Villarosa.

“From one operation to another, this is a living testament of the beefed up approach towards curbing illegal drugs. It is with high hopes that these will serve as deterrent against illegal drug operations,” PNP Chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said.
