MARAGONDON, Cavite – This 3rd class upland municipality has earned its historical significance for the trial, death and burial area of known revolutionary brothers Procopio and ‘Katipunan Supremo’ Andres Bonifacio.

But unknown to many, this municipality is also known as the ‘the town of heroes’ and to pay tribute to its ‘sons’ who played a role in the Philippine Revolution, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) is organizing a lecture at the Museo ng Paglilitis ni Andres Bonifacio (Bonifacio Trial House) on Nov. 23 at 2 p.m.

BTH museum staff Jonel Briñas Rabusa disclosed that the lecture, entitled ‘Magtagumpay Ang Mga Bayani ng Maragondon” will focus on the contributions of the Riego de Dios brothers – Esteban and Infante, as well as Crisostomo Riel in their struggles during the Philippine Revolution.

These heroes’ roles are highlighted “so that their inspiration will be reverberated in the minds and in the hearts not only to the people of Maragondon but also to the entire freedom-loving Filipinos,” added Rabusa.

Rhonnel Soberano, author of “Kasaysayan ng Maragondon, Bayan ng Magtagumpay,” who is also a Board Member of the Cavite Historical Society (CHS), a member of Maragondon Tourism Council and 1997 Chapter President of Maragondon “Pico de Loro” Jaycees as well, will manage the lecture.

BTH is one of the Cavite-cluster museums of the NHCP , with its ad located at Col. C. Riel Street of this town.

The former trial house is now transformed into a modernized museum, which offers interactive displays on the events that led to the trial and execution of the Katipunan Supremo Andres Bonifacio, and the special bond he shared with his young wife Gregoria de Jesus.

Interested parties may call BTH at mobile number +63 0917 553 7375 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday to Sunday to reserve a slot.
