Duterte prioritizes Mindanao infrastructure: SAP Go

TAGUM CITY, Davao del Norte, AUGUST 3, 2018 — Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go today gave assurance that the Duterte administration is giving priority to Mindanao as manifested by the various infrastructure projects being undertaken in the region.

In his speech during the oath-taking of Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) held here, Go enumerated the projects the Duterte administration is undertaking in Davao del Norte.

One of these is the building of the Mindanao Railway which will shorten the travel time from Tagum City to Digos City in Davao del Sur from the current three hours to just an hour and a half.

Transportation Secretary Art Tugade, in an interview with online news site Mindanation, attested to how serious Duterte is in the Mindanao Railway project, saying the administration will give the attention Mindanao deserves.

“Binibigyan niya lang ng tamang atensyon, yung atensyon na nawala, dekada, nung mga nakaraang mga administrasyon na hindi nabibigay sa Mindanao,” he said. (He is giving back the right attention due to Mindanao which was not given during the past administrations.)

As this developed, Davao City Mayor and HNP chair Sara Duterte endorsed Go for the upcoming 2019 Midterm Elections.

Go, in a recent interview in this city, had said he is willing to be part of the HNP if he decides to run for a Senate seat in the 2019 elections.

“Sana maging national at lalong palakasin. Masarap magkaroon ng partido na ipinanganak sa Davao,” Go shared. (I hope it [HNP] becomes a national party, and for it to be strengthened. It would be good if a political party originate from Davao.) (OSAP Media)
