Creation of department for overseas Filipinos advocated

The establishment of a department for overseas Filipinos is pushed by different organizations, among which are ACTS-OFW partylist and Philippine Association of Service Exporters, Inc. The proposed government arm, which will absorb the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, Philippine Overseas Labor and Office, and overseas absentee voting, is believed to settle upon the issues on illegal recruitment and undocumented overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). Solons are striving to have the proposal promulgated before year 2019 concludes.
