3M consumers benefit from MERALCO’s ‘No Disconnection Policy’ extension

The Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) extended its “No Disconnection Policy” from December 31, 2020 to January 31, 2021.

This was confirmed by House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco following the positive response of MERALCO President Ray Espinosa on his request on the matter.

“This good gesture on the part of MERALCO will go a long way in helping our kababayans (countrymen) feel secure this Christmas,” Velasco shared.

In a letter, the giant power firm stated that there will be no disconnection for customers who consume 200 kWh and below. Around 3 million MERALCO customers will benefit from the extended policy.
Rep. Velasco expressed gratitude towards the company stating that it showed the “true Bayanihan spirit” as it empathized with the plight of our indigent countrymen. – Report from Daniel Manalastas/PTV News
