Warm, humid weather to prevail over most of PH

MANILA – Generally fair, warm, and humid weather will prevail over most parts of the country, the weather bureau said Wednesday, May 11.

The warm and humid weather, especially at noon, is caused by the easterlies, while the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao will continue to bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over most areas in Mindanao and Palawan, Grace Castañeda of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

“Because of this, we advise (limiting) outdoor activities as much as possible. Drink water and wear light clothes to prevent health risks,” Castañeda added.

The temperatures in Metro Manila and Tuguegarao are expected to rise to 35°C, and in Laoag, up to 34°C.

The Visayas will also experience fair weather, with isolated rains caused by thunderstorms likely in the afternoon or evening.

The temperature in Iloilo, Tacloban, Cebu, Zamboanga, and Davao could reach up to 32°C.

Castañeda said no weather disturbance is seen in the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will continue to prevail over the entire country. (PNA) – bny
