QCJMD jab rate reaches 99.7 % as it braces for F2F visitation

A total of 1,858 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory (QCJMD) received AstraZeneca COVID-19 booster doses, while 33 other inmates got their primary shot and 15 took their second dose.

The QCJ said 99.7% or 3,282 of the 3,291 total number of inmates at the facility are already safeguarded by COVID-19 vaccines, while 83.4 % or 2,745 PDLs already got their protection boosted.

With an almost full vaccination rate coverage, jail warden JSupt. Michelle Bonto said the facility is preparing for the implementation of face-to-face visitation for the family and loved ones of the PDLs after two years of non-contact visitation due to COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the QCJMD assured the public that it remains a COVID-safe facility and will remain a “zero, COVID-free” establishment.

The successful vaccination program of the QCJMD was made possible through the The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology-National Capital Region Health Services Division and in partnership with the Quezon City Health Department.  – ag
